Five Holiday Traditions We’re Looking Forward to This Year

As I’m writing this, it’s the first truly cold day of the year – I’m curled up at Starbucks, drinking a red eye with peppermint in it, wearing my favorite bulldog sweater, and silently willing the holidays to come faster. It’s going to be our first holiday season in our house, and we’re so excited. I thought I would share some of our favorite holiday traditions, and what we’re most excited for this coming year.

-Friendsgiving

This is one of my favorite days of the year, and I think my friends have learned by this point that it’s better to miss my birthday, than to miss Friendsgiving. David and I always take care of the turkey, and our friends go potluck on the sides, and since I don’t get a Norman Rockwall Thanksgiving, this is as close as I get.

-Watching Gilmore Girls, Eating Chinese and Decorating

We always order way too much takeout, watching ‘The Bracebridge Dinner’ and ‘Love and War and Snow’, while we put up all the decorations on November 1st.

-Travelling for Thanksgiving week

We always spend Thanksgiving week taking a big trip, and it’s one of my favorite times of year.

-Funtivities

David and I are HUGE Christmas fans, so every year we make a list of Christmas activities and dates, and we called ‘funtivites’ (because we’re hella lame, and basically Buddy the Elf), that we do every year.

-Disney for NYE

I know that it’s crazy crowded, but we love ending the holiday season by spending New Years Eve at Disney. It’s so festive, and just feels like it makes the holiday season last a little longer.
