When we set out to live a ‘bucket list lifestyle’, we knew we wanted be the kind of people who turned our ‘somedays’ into realities. We didn’t want life to just pass us by without actually accomplishing the things that we always said we would do. We wanted to live deliberately, adventurously, and we wanted to see the world — and we wanted to figure out a way to still be financially wise while we did it.
As we’re in in the first month of 2015, we look back to all we accomplished on our bucket list during 2014, and all that we have planned for 2015. One of my favorite things that David and I do at the beginning of every year, is we sit down, and we trip plan. We get out all of our travel books, our calendars, our budgets, and we dream of the next year and where we could go. Then we make a plan to try to make it happen. Sometimes our plans change a little over the year, but it is really nice to have something to shoot for and save for.
In this past year we have crossed New Orleans (twice), the Grand Canyon, and Laguna Beach off of our list. We have seen Britney Spears in Las Vegas, and David has taken his first trip to Disneyland. We stayed in the Grand Floridian Resort for the first time, and channeled our inner Gryffendoor at the Wizzarding World of Harry Potter. We went to Disney World with our best friends, and went to our first Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party. We spent Christmas in my favorite place in the world – New York City, and did our first Disney Cruise. To quote Barney Stinson, its been a Legen-wait for it-dary, year. We’ve enjoyed living it, photographing it, and writing about it.
As we look to 2015, we think about what we want to cross off our bucket lists in this next year, and what we have planned to cover for the site! In the next year, for your reading and viewing pleasure, we hope to bring you dog sledding, hot springs, and tubing adventures in early March. We’re going to cross the North Shore of Oahu off our list in May, as well as touring Aluani. We hope to make it to Disneylands Diamond Celebration as Walt’s first theme park celebrates its 60th birthday. We’re looking forward to spending some time in Europe this fall, and going to our first international Disney Park. All in all, we know its going to be a great year, and we can’t wait to photograph it, and write about it for all of you. Remember – tomorrow is just a dream away.
