Our travel schedule has been getting more and more hectic lately. We have a tendency to throw health and diet to the wind while we travel(which is a choice that we endorse and stand beside). What good is going to France if you aren’t going to eat all the bread? Why go to Disney if you aren’t going to eat all the Mickey shaped food? Eating is an essential part of traveling. When we’re home though, we try to do a complete overhaul of our eating, so that we don’t die before we hit 30. We normally switch out a couple of meals a day for super healthy smoothies in between trips, to detox and rebalance. We’re sharing three of our favorite smoothie recipes on todays blog. We always make our smoothies with a handheld immersion blender, that we can’t say enough good things about – we use it for everything from soup, to salad dressing, to pasta sauce to guac. You can buy ours here. We buy all of our ingredients from Trader Joes – that’s not a sponsored endorsement, just the truth. We love Trader Joe’s so much, it’s ridiculous.
Recipe 1:
-Cold Brew Coffee
-Coconut Milk
-Frozen Acai Puree
-Frozen Raspberry
-Frozen Coconut
Recipe 2:
-Coconut Milk
-Emergen-C (we add this to knock out colds we pick up on the road!)
-Frozen Mango
-Frozen Blueberries
-Splenda (or whatever your favorite sweetener is)
-Frozen Raspberry
-Spoonful of Peanut Butter
Recipe 3:
-Greek Yogurt
-Cold Brew Coffee
-Coconut Milk
-Frozen Acai Puree
-Spinach
-Splenda (or whatever sweetener you like)
These are our three stand-by recipes! I’m picky about smoothies, so if I recommend one, then I really like it. Enjoy your after-trip detox with something that doesn’t taste like green juice (because why subject yourself to that).
