Touring Disney’s Resort’s at Christmas

One of my favorite holiday activities is touring Disney resorts during the holidays. I mean, I love Christmas decorations in general – I’m that person whose headed to Hobby Lobby in August just to be in the only place that has holiday decor available, but there’s something special about Disney resorts. Maybe it’s the over-the-top decor that a giant budget allows, or maybe it’s the fact that they’re just a stone’s throw from some of the most magical theme parks on earth, but whatever it is, I can’t get enough. Today, I’m sharing my favorite Disney resorts to visit during the holiday season, so you can get the most holiday bang for your proverbial buck.

-The Grand Floridian
In our humble opinion, The Grand Floridian is the Christmas creme-de-la-creme. This year, it’s celebrating it’s 20th anniversary of it’s lifesize gingerbread house, and we got to be on hand for the ribbon cutting. The gingerbread house is a special Disney tradition (they sell gingerbread out of the house!), and shouldn’t be missed.

-The Contemporary
The Contemporary has it’s own gingerbread house, and their year, it’s an ode to Cinderella’s castle.

-The Polynesian
We normally don’t think that The Polynesian has the best Christmas decorations around, but it DOES have some of the best food and drinks around, so you should add it as a monorail stop, and use it as your watering hole stop for the evening.

-The Wilderness Lodge
We love the cozy Christmas environment of the Wilderness Lodge. There’s a roaring fire to sit by, and one of our favorite trees on property.

-The Beach Club
The Beach Club might be our second favorite resort to visit during the holiday season – mainly because they have a life-size, fully working chocolate carousel. It’s beautiful to behold, and shouldn’t be missed.

-The Yacht Club
The Yacht Club is next do to The Beach Club, and has an adorable model train set, running through a winter village, as well as a nautical themed tree.
