I’m not going to pretend that it’s not hot at Disney World in the summer. It is. It’s the kind of hot that people write sonnets about, and start fantasizing about dancing Slurpees and splash pads. There are ways to beat the heat though (and no, they don’t involve just staying home). Today, we’re talking about a few of our favorite ways to stay cool and keep your sanity intact.
-Hit The Water Park
Disney water parks aren’t the sketchy water parks that Six Flags has trained you to be used to. They’re well themed, have great rides, and plenty of mini-donuts and good drinks.
-Skip the Afternoons
You won’t find us at a Disney Park between the hours of 1-5pm during the summer months if you paid us. We escape for some nap and pool time, and avoid the hottest part of the day.
-Have a Late Night
The parks are always better at night, but that’s even more true during the summer months when the parks are cooler at night.
-Get a Cold Treat
I never really need an excuse for ice cream, or a cold cocktail, but if it’s 100 degrees outside, I’ll for sure use it as a scapegoat for why I need a refreshing treat.
-Dress for It
Please, if you only listen to one thing I ever say on this rambling blog – don’t wear jeans in the summer to a Disney Park. Dress in breathable clothing, and comfortable shoes.
