Growing up, my family went to Steamboat Springs almost every year. It’s a cute and eclectic small town in Colorado, with a picturesque downtown, and great skiing. I got to take David there for his first time a few weeks ago, and we had the best time exploring, and looking at the fall foliage. Even if you just have a day to spend, Steamboat Springs is a must add to any trip to Colorado. We’ve listed some of our favorite spots below!
Play:
Fish Creek Falls
A scenic 1/4 mile hike to a beautiful waterfall, that even the least athletic of us (raises hand), will have no trouble with.
Strawberry Hot Springs
A beautiful outdoor hot springs with varying pool of different temperatures. Make sure to go during the day – at night, it’s clothing optional!
Downtown Steamboat
The cutest little downtown to explore.
Yampa River
Scenic views, and the perfect spot for a picnic lunch.
Eat:
Salt & Lime
Great tacos and margeritas!
Yampa Sandwich Company
An inexpensive lunch place with fantastic sandwiches.
