Wanting to feel like Aladin for a day? Then I can’t recommend The Grand Sand Dunes in Colorado enough. David and I visited almost a decade ago and got the chance to visit again about a week ago with David’s family, and it’s always a great experience. Even better, we got to take Harley with us, and he had the time of his life. Every summer, when the snow melts off the mountain, it creates a creek at the base of the sand dunes that people frolic in. We saw people with beach blankets, swimsuits, and even floats. It’s a nice contrast from jumping off a burning hot sand dune, to be able to head to the cold stream to cool down a little bit.
