Getting Ready for Mickey’s Not So Scary Party 2019

It’s hot as Satan’s champagne room where we live, which means I’m already dreaming of fall in Stars Hollow, pumpkin spice lattes, and Mickey’s Not So Scary Parties. And since it’s my blog, and I can write about whatever seasonally inappropriate things I want to, today we’re talking about NOT SO SCARY! The parties are coming up SO FAST, so today, we’re sharing a game plan to help you get ready

-Chose The Right Night

Not all parties are created equal. If you head to a Not So Scary Party on a weekend, or in October (anytime close to Halloween really), the parties get CRAZY busy. And as much fun as it is to watch the headless horsemen run down Main Street, it’s not fun while you’re standing in Time Square like traffic. We always recommend trying to go during one of the weekday, or August/September parties.

-Have A Game Plan

We’re huge fans of the game plan. We love having a plan. We want to marry plans and have tons of children with plans. We think, to quote someone way smarter than us if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. If you want to leave no frustrated, and feeling like you’ve wasted your money, you need to have priorities and a plan. Pick several character meet and greets to accomplish, a show you want to see, and a parade showing to see. Also, prioritize getting a good spot for fireworks.

-Get A Costume (Or At Least Festive)

Going to Not So Scary without a costume, a Disneybound, or at least festive Halloween-ware, is really not experiencing it to the best you can. GET INTO THE SPIRIT GUYS!

-Pair It With Another Event

There are super early parties this year (like August 16th), but if you wait an extra week, you can pair the party with Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival. If you plan the right party to go to, you can make a fun trip out of it. This year’s Food and Wine Festival starts on August 29th.
