Aloha, Maui + Some Great Recommendations

Testing – one, two, three. Is this thing on? It’s been a HOT minute and a half since I’ve blogged regularly (and let’s be completely honest, the five posts a week thing from 2018 is never coming back). BUT since David and I just returned from a trip celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary in Maui, and I’m sitting on an ungodly amount of photos from our trip – it truly felt like it would be tropical hoarding to not blog today. You know that scene in Lilo and Stitch where the whole family is surfing together, and the weather is perfect while tropical background music plays? Yeah, that’s basically the same energy Maui gives off 24/7. Currently our favorite of the Hawaiin islands, just slighting edging out Oahu, we’ve started to think of ourselves as borderline experts. Nay, senseis. So today, we share not only a ton of vacation photos that might make you resent us, if not outright hate us, but also, our shared knowledge of where to eat, stay and play on the island.

Eat:

-Monkeypod Kitchen

If Mai Tais with passionfruit foam is at the top of your tropical bucket list, then this place is a MUST DO. And really, why would you have a bucket list that didn’t have that on there?

-Kihei Cafe

It seems, that most people think this place is good enough to start lining up at 5:45 IN THE MORNING. I don’t think anything, except for a Taylor Swift/Britney Spears joint concert is worth that, but nevertheless, the coconut/pineapple pancakes are legendary.

-Nalus South Shore Grill

This seemed to be the only place on the island without a crazy wait, and honestly, I have no idea why. Dinner is top-notch, fast, and cheap as far as island standard goes.

-The Hula Grill

Yes, it’s a chain restaurant, but the barefoot bar lets you eat fresh fish, while having your feet in the sand. If that’s not the epitome of vacation relaxation, I don’t know what is.

-South Maui Fish Co

Started by a culinary school drop out, you won’t find fresher fish on the island than this food truck.

-Tin Roof

BEST POKE BOWL ON THE ISLAND.

-Paia Bowls

BEST ACAI BOWL ON THE ISLAND

-808 Grindz

These men deserve an award for the thought behind combining a crab cake, and eggs Benedict.

-Mamas Fish House

It will cost your first born child, but there’s a reason everyone raves about this place.
