10 Things You Might Not Know About Us

Hello (you can’t see me, but I’m waving at the keyboard). Right now, I’m curled up in our house, wearing an oversized sweatshirt, on our oversized leather chesterfield sofa, with my third cup of coffee today. I’m thinking about how grateful I am for all of YOU! You guys have allowed us to live our dreams – you’ve followed along with our travels, adventures, and pop culture references. I would love to be able to have each of you over to our house – we would sit down and REALLY get to know each other. Since that’s not super feasible, I love doing blogs like this occasionally, to help you get to know David and I a little bit better. Today, I’m sharing ten things you probably don’t know about us!

1 – I (Laura), am a college dropout! I went to Oral Roberts University for two years, and changed my major multiple times. I felt tired, and like there had to be more for my life, so I dropped out after my sophomore year to do an internship at a church back in Dallas, and never went back to school.

2 – David is NOT a college dropout! He graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering. He’s one of the smartest people I know – he was even valedictorian in High School!

3 – We’re both crazy coffee drinkers. And not in a ‘coffee is cool so we drink it’ kind of way. I’ve been drinking coffee since I was in 5th grade (is that weird?), and David averages five cups a day!

4 – We both are obsessed with Trader Joe’s. I think for the first year of our marriage, we lived off their frozen orange chicken. It’s the only grocery store we go to, and we’re there a few times a week.

5 – We both value loyalty more than any other quality in a person.

6 – Iceland and Greece are at the top of our travel bucket list!

7 – We didn’t have a Disney wedding, but David DID propose at The Magic Kingdom. We chose to get married in our hometown, so we could have all of our friends there, and have our pastor marry us. After our wedding we took a MONTH honeymoon (because we’re super extra). We went to Cancun, London, Paris, and Rome!

8 – We are both committed to having a weekly date night! Come rain or shine, we have a date night every week!

9 – Christmas is by far our favorite holiday. We have a list of ‘funtivities’ that we do every single Christmas season.

10 – We’ve worked together in some form or fashion since we started dating! We both were servers together at the same restaurant for years, and we’ve run the business together for the past three and a half years!

We are so thankful for all of you, for giving us the chance to do what we love, and for following along!
