Halloween at Disney California Adventure

California Adventure is one of my favorite theme parks. I always say that my happy place is having a drink at a water-view table at The Lamplight Lounge during World of Color. Well, I have to stand corrected – my happy place is The Lamplight Lounge during World of Color, while the park is decorated for Halloween. Today, I’m sharing my guide to the parks at Halloween, so you can get the most spooky for your proverbial buck.

Decor:

Is there anything better than Halloween decorations? Except maybe Christmas decorations. Some of my favorites at DCA are the elaborate decorations at Cars Land, the spooky purple lights at the trees near the Carthay Circle, the headless horseman on Buena Vista Street, and the bear near Grizzly River Run, carrying a pumpkin.

Overlays:

Hollywood Studios has Monsters After Dark during Halloween Season, which is a fun take on Guardians of The Galaxy. While it doesn’t feel super Halloween-ish to me, it is always fun to have a different take on a ride for the season.

Food:

The best part of seasonal entertainment is the food, right? No, just me? We actually enjoyed the Halloween food at DCA more than the seasonal food at Disneyland this year. Our favorites are the poison appletini at Carthay Circle, the Spider Macaron Ice-Cream Sandwich at Clarabelle’s, and the slow-burnin’ mac n cheese at Cozy Cone.

Characters:

You can find the fab-five in their spooky best at Buena Vista Street. My favorite by far in Donald dressed like the devil. You can also find different Cars character in costume in Cars Land.
