When I was little, I used to pretend to be sick, so I could stay home, eat tomato soup, and watch Miracle on 34th Street over and over and over again. Several years ago, David and I went to New York City for Christmas, and got to meet the Santa that the film was based on. I count it as one of the high points of my life. Because that’s how much I love Christmas. Because I love Christmas so much, it makes sense that my favorite event that Disney puts on is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. This hard ticketed event is a magical Christmas wonderland, filled with Disney and holiday cheer, that should be at the top of every Christmas-lovers list. Today, we’re talking about how you should prepare for this wonderful event.
Have a plan
There’s so much to do and see at the party – if you try to do it all you’ll fail. You need to prioritize what you want to do, instead of trying to do everything. We recommend prioritizing the following:
– Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade
This is my favorite parade that Disney does. It’s full of magic, and whimsy, and when you’re watching it as the snow comes down on Main Street, it’ll make you believe in magic.
-Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration
This show debuted last year, and despite the somewhat cheesy cellphone song in it, it’s a strong show, that really captures the Holiday spirit.
-Holiday Wishes Fireworks
The only thing I love more than watching fireworks on Main Street, is watching fireworks on Main Street while it’s decorated for Christmas, and the castle is lit up like an icicle.
Character Dance Parties
What can I say? I’m a sucker for getting to dance with the Country Bears. They’re the hidden treasure of Walt Disney World.
You know what’s better that going to a Very Merry Party? Going to a Very Merry Party in festive clothes. It’s time to pull out that ugly Christmas sweater, and tinsel earrings.
Whether you follow our advice or not, you’re gonna have a blast at Very Merry. I mean, it’s a whole event celebrating Disney and Christmas – how could you not have fun?
