If you’ve read my blog for a while, you know I love any excuse to dress up. My taste tends to go more towards dresses and velvet, instead of athleisure and nikes. I’m currently binging The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (as any other diehard Gilmore Girls fan should be), and I’m loving all the retro, feminine fashion. Today, I’m talking about my favorite looks this Valentines Day (or really, just February in general).
-A Red Lip
For years I thought I couldn’t pull off a red lip, but with more shades than ever, it’s easy to find one that will compliment your skin tone. When I’m wanting a more subtle red, I use ‘Santa Baby’ lip tint from Lush. If I want a bold look, that will last all day, I use this Maybelline long wear. I always add a coat of Glossier Balm Dotcom to keep it moisturized, and give it a more shiny look (Kylie Jenner can keep her matte lips).
-Soft Lace
Lace is one of my favorite soft, feminine looks. It’s classic and never goes out of style. For Valentines Day, I normally chose lace in pastels, or a soft cream. I love this one, and this one.
-Pops of Red and Pink
Red and Pink are two of my favorite colors to wear this time of year (and really any time of year). I usually go for one pop piece in these colors, instead of opting for head to toe fuschia. I love this one, this one and this one.
-Tulle
Ever since Carrie Bradshaw wore that iconic tutu, has anything been more romantic than a tulle skirt or dress? I love this one, this one, and this one.
