Celebrating Birthdays at Disney

Disney is the most magical place on earth, so it goes without saying that it’s one of the most magical places to spend your birthday. I spent my last birthday at Disneyland, and it was one of my favorite birthdays ever. Today, we’re sharing some of our best tips for making the most of your birthday at Disney, so you can party like 50 cent (not so obscure ‘In Da Club’ reference anyone?!).

-Pick up a button
Head to Guest Relations when you first hit the parks for a complimentary birthday button. It’s a fun, free way to add some extra magic to your day. We’ve had Cast Members add some extra magic to our day when we were wearing a birthday button, and we always appreciate it.

-Mention it on any hotel or dining reservations
When you make your reservations, there’s a space where you can mention anything you’re celebrating, and it never hurts to add it here. We’ve come back to fun surprises in the room, or had special desserts sent out at meals.

-Manage your expectations
I have run this blog for five years, and I’ve always been nervous to write about celebrating birthdays because I want people to manage their expectations. We’ve had times that we’ve celebrated birthdays at Disney and Cast Members have created all kinds of magic for us, and we’ve had birthdays at Disney where nothing was done. SO MANY people celebrate their birthdays at Disney, so we hope that everyone can keep their expectations in check for what Disney will or won’t do.

-Order a custom cake
Did you know that Disney actually has a cake hotline?! Call 407-827-2253 at least 72 hours before your celebration, and Disney can create a custom cake to send out to your table at your table service dining reservation.
