One of my favorite things from being in Europe during the spring a few years ago was the massive fields of flowers you could stumble upon on the side of the road. So when I saw that Southern California had a flower field of its own in Carlsbad, I jumped at the chance to go this last weekend. Carlsbad is about an hour and a half drive from Disneyland (where we were!) and is a field of 50 acres, filled with every color ranunculus you can imagine
The flowers bloom from March – May, and we recommend getting there early on a weekday to avoid huge crowds. This is one of our favorite experiences we’ve had in Southern California, and are already planning a return trip next spring.
