I love sauce. Sauce is kind of my thing. I judge all my food by sauce – burgers, sandwiches, sushi, dessert – heck, I even dip my pizza in ranch. So when a restaurant specializing in chicken, helmed by Guy Fieri, claimed to be ‘the boss of sauce’ (it’s even printed on all their cartons), I went in with high expectations.
I’m going to be succinct. I’m not going to mince words. I think that Disney Springs has done a phenomenal jobs – one of Disney’s best ever, at rehabbing Downtown Disney and turning it into Disney Springs. I think they’ve turned it into a vacation MUST, and every restaurant they’ve opened has been better than the last. The restaurants at Disney Springs have been innovative, atmospheric and delicious. Chicken Guy is none of these things. It’s a mediocre miss of a restaurant, leftover from 90s mall food court days, missing in flavor, and over charging for small sauces that just don’t have much taste to them.
Again, I don’t think this review in indicative of the rest of Disney Springs, which is phenomenal, and well worth your time. Skip Chicken Guy, and head to Blaze Pizza or D-Luxe Burger if you’re looking for a quick, cheap meal, both of which are fantastic and affordable.
