Best Disney Restaurants for First Time Trips

So, you’re going to Disney World for the first time? Good – you’re in for a lifelong addiction, with no cure, that’ll cost you a ton of money – BUT you’ll have some of the best memories of your life. There are so many decisions to make on your first trip – so we wanted to help by sharing what we think are the best Disney restaurants for your first experience.

-Ohana
We 100% recommend Ohana for dinner INSTEAD of breakfast. Dinner has a Brazilian Steakhouse vibe, with a Polynesian flair (which makes sense since it’s at The Polynesian Resort). You’ll start with a mix of tropical, and Asian inspired appetizers, before you move on to all you can eat chicken, steak, and shrimp. Dessert is a Disney legend (banana foster bread pudding, anyone?), and the atmosphere is fun and festive, with huge windows showcasing a view of Bay Lake.

-Be Our Guest
We love Be Our Guest (even if we don’t fight to go anymore). Disney did an incredible job perfectly replicating Beast’s Castle, so that you actually feel like you’re stepping into a movie. We recommend going for lunch – we think that the food is just as good, but SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper.

-Sci-Fi Dine In
Most people will tell you to go to 50s Prime Time Cafe on your first trip (a place that we can’t stand). We suggest you skip it, and make a reservation at the Sci-Fi Dine In instead. You might not write home about the food, but you will about the atmosphere. The restaurant is styled like an old school drive-in, where you sit in a 50s style car to eat, while watching old movie clips.

-The California Grill
If you’re going to book one nice restaurant on your trip, this is the one we recommend. The food is beyond incredible, and you’ll get to dine with floor to ceiling views of The Magic Kingdom, and Bay Lake. Stay for fireworks, which you can watch on their 13th floor balcony.

-Tusker House
This is our favorite character meal, and it has the ‘big five’ (including Mickey!). Tusker House doesn’t just have generic buffet food, but features African inspired dishes, and great ambiance.

Really, there are so many great dining options, that it’s hard to go wrong in picking places. We hope our list makes it a little bit easier for you.
