What We Pack for Summer at WDW

People aren’t exaggerating when they talk about how hot summers are at Walt Disney World. And they’re not just hot – they’re rainy, and humid. Now that we’ve gotten the bad news out of the way, the good news is, is that summers at Disney have special events, extended operating hours, and plenty of ways to cool down. Today, we’re sharing what we pack for summers in the park.

-Rain Gear
It will rain. That’s a foregone conclusion. It doesn’t have to affect how much fun you have in the parks though. Just pack an umbrella and a raincoat for the day, and you’ll be fine.

-Waterproof shoes
I normally wear footbed sandals of some kind (my favorites are from Target!), that dry easily and quickly. David normally opts for either boat shoes, or sandals. Comfortable shoes are the biggest difference between a happy day at the park, or a painful day.

-Swimwear
Maybe my favorite thing, is taking a break from the parks in the middle of the day, and hitting the pool. You need to take a break and cool off – powering through the day isn’t your best option. I love this swimsuit, and this one.

-Cool, breathable clothes
I wear a lot of dresses during the summer at WDW, and David leans towards shorts, and breathable shirts.

-A handheld fan
GET A HANDHELD FAN FOR THE PARKS. Seriously, it makes such a huge difference in the temperature.
