Our Favorite Disney Resorts

Picking a favorite Disney Resort is like choosing a favorite child, or favorite episode of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel – impossible. Some ARE better than others, so we’re talking about our favorites in each category.
Value:
-Art of Animation
This is by far Disney’s best value resort. Like, there isn’t even a contest. It’s the best themed, the rooms are the best, and it has the best food and pools. The only problem is, is that for it to be TRULY a value resort in price, you have to get a room in The Little Mermaid area. Everything else is suites, and they’re significantly more expensive.

-Pop Century
If you can’t get a room at Art of Animation, we highly recommend Pop Century. The newly renovated rooms are incredible, and the theming feels more relevant and recently done than any of the All Stars.

Moderate:
-Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter
You can’t go wrong with either of these neighboring resorts. They both explore romanticized themes of the South, with one embodying a beautiful and sanitized New Orleans French Quarter, and the other showing the best parts of bayou, and stately Southern homes.

Deluxe:
-The Boardwalk
The Boardwalk is my favorite. I love the turn of the century theming, relaxed feel, and entertainment and dining that’s steps away. It’s also steps away from Epcot, and Hollywood Studios – which is a big plus.

-Animal Kingdom Lodge
The Animal Kingdom Lodge is by far the best themed of all Disney Resorts. You actually get to feel like you’re staying on the African Savannah (especially if you’re in a savannah view room, that overlooks the animals!). This resort also has three of the best restaurants on property, steps away. The only downside is that the resort is far from all the parks, except The Animal Kingdom, so we recommend getting a rental car.

-The Grand Floridian
Disney’s crown jewel, is also the most expensive. If you can get a deal, or can rent DVC Points, it’s also gorgeous, and a short monorail ride away from The Magic Kingdom.

You honestly can’t go wrong with any resorts at Disney – they’re all impeccably themed, and beautiful. We think our top picks are something special, and stand a head above the others.
