Our Favorite Breakfasts At WDW

I love breakfast. I love waffles, and coffee, and benedicts, and mimosas, and god I’m getting hungry just listing this all out. My ideal Saturday, includes a leisurely brunch, followed by doing absolutely nothing. We don’t always eat a long, leisurely breakfast at Walt Disney World (we’re normally hitting the parks at opening), but when we do, we love the following places.

-Tusker House, The Animal Kingdom
Tusker House is the gem of The Animal Kingdom. It’s a character meal that has ‘the big guns’ (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, etc), but ALSO has good food – which is a rarity at WDW (we’re looking at you Chef Mickey’s. The restaurant is themed like an African Market, and has fantastic food, as well as great character interaction (at one point, safari Goofy, took my hand and we skipped through the whole restaurant. )20170302-LJP_361220170302-LJP_356920170302-LJP_356120170302-LJP_355420170302-LJP_3457

-Boma, The Animal Kingdom Lodge
I can’t say enough good things about Boma. I mean – a carving station? At breakfast? As well as multiple kinds of character waffles, biscuits and gravy, a whole sweet section, and so many other things that will make your foodie heart sing.20170422-LJP_518420170422-LJP_5152LJP_0028LJP_0043

-The Captains Grille, The Yacht Club Resort
We truly consider The Captains Grille to be the hidden crown jewel of Walt Disney World’s breakfast scene. They have CHOCOLATE MICKEY WAFFLES (sometimes they’re circles, but they’re normally Mickey’s), covered in cherries and whipped cream, as well as a crab cake benedict, and shrimp and pepper jack grits with egg. We love to grab a bite here, then walk over to Epcot.DSC_0106DSC_0093DSC_0083

-The Kona Cafe, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
You know that we think that The Polynesian Village Resort is flawless in all its ways – so it makes sense that its breakfast place is pretty perfect. The Kona Cafe is known for its Tonga Toast, which we get a lot of flack for not liking (is hating bananas a crime?), but The Kona Cafe also has the best cup of coffee on property, with its french press, as well as the samoan, and the macadamia nut pineapple pancakes. Find a buddy and share those two entrees – you’ll love it.DSC_0168LJP_026920170423-LJP_5860

-The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, Magic Kingdom
This might seem like kind of a wild card pick, but we mainly chose it, so that you can grab your Mickey Waffles to-go, and park on prime Magic Kingdom real-estate. Take your breakfast to the hub grass, and enjoy some castle views while you eat.20170302-LJP_332520170302-LJP_337120170302-LJP_3440

We hope our list helps you decide where to enjoy your morning waffles – we know there’s nothing we enjoy more than morning waffles, so we consider is a great honor to help you make this important choice.
