Best Disney Cruise Tips

For a long time, I thought cruising wouldn’t be for me. I didn’t care for The Love Boat, and had taken in one too many showings of Gilligans Island, and Titanic (anyone else think that Rose is a selfish jerk for stretching out on that piece of wood like that?). But, as a Disney travel blogger I knew that I needed to bring you CONTENT! So, that means, taking to the high seas! (Selfless, I know.) Today, we’re bringing you our top tips for Disney Cruises, to make your time at sea the most it can be.hat can be found here, here, and here

1) Your Key to The World Card is Everything
What your magicband is at the parks, your Key To The World Card is on your ship. It gets you in your room, it pays for your booze, it gets you off and on your ship, IT DOES EVERYTHING. Keep is close and give it a pet name.Davids sunglasses are here. my sunglasses are here!

2) Don’t Skip Palo
Why would you pay a little extra when the rest of your meals are included? BECAUSE PALO IS DELICIOUS and the service is out of this world. But seriously – Palo is worth the money.

3) Dining Is Rotational
You will move throughout the different restaurants on the cruise throughout your sailing. If you’re on a shorter cruise (like a three night), and want to hit a certain restaurant and Palo, have them arrange your dining in a certain order on the ship.

4) Get The Disney Cruise Line Navigator App
This app is amazing. It runs on the cruises WIFI for free, so you can know what’s going on in the ship WHENEVER.

5) Don’t Skip The Nightly Show
Not a show fan?! I don’t care. This is Disney. And what Disney does well is entertainment. The nightly shows are a MUST. They’re fantastic, and so well done. They are a must-do for any trip.

6) BYOB
GUYS – you can bring your own booze. Not a ton of booze (rules have changed, from the lackadaisical rules of the past), but you can still stow two bottles of wine, or a six pack of beer in your carry on.

7) Use An Authorized Disney Vacation Planner
We recommend booking through a Disney Vacation Planner to make your trip easier. They help those of us (like us!) that just aren’t as knowledgable about the process of Disney Cruises as we are about the parks, and if you use our recommended Vacation Planners, Small World Vacations, you get an onboard credit, which you can read about here.

8) Restaurants Are All You Can Eat
Want two appetizers? Get it. Want two desserts? DO IT. Want the whole menu?! Well we don’t recommend it, but you could.

9) Order Mickey Bars
It’s not on the menu, but room service will give you as MANY Mickey Ice Cream bars as you want. It’s gluttony at its finest.

10) Don’t Skip The Bars
The adults only bars onboard are worth checking out. They’re everything you wish bars were in real life – perfectly themed and beautiful, with great drinks.

11) The Rainforest Room at The Spa is Great
For a cheap price (by Disney standards), you can buy a day pass to the different saunas, showers, and ocean view hot tubs in the spa. It’s money well spent.
